Otherwise, I'll spare you. Well, i suppose that I'm now an official Union orchestra member, since I had my first performance with them last night. *sigh* we were on stage playing the can-can in unison. It doesn't get much worse than that, does it? Feel lucky you've got Maruman you guys, he's evil, but he gives you real music to play. Lets see, what else. I'm gonna stay at Halleys, when I come back to visit, and we're still working out when I'm coming back. Cause everyone in my family is doing stuff at different times. So be patient! that's assuming you're impatient. and not just hoping i stay away :) Lets see....... Working my way through the Vampire Chronicles, thanks to Lalie's influence. Turns out, Michigan was really only a passing fancy, since my dad really didn't want me to leave home. so no Interlochen school for me. Maybe Interlochen camp though. Depends on how much financial aid I can get. Well, I got screwed out of the Swan solo, cause I could hear my competition audition and I did mucho bueno than her. but she's a senior, so. I'm also 2nd chair, an embarrassment that won't happen again. So more or less, life is sucking right about now. although, it seems kinda silly to have life suck just cause of orchestra. However, when I get screwed because of seniority, it makes me feel like going and being violent. breaking a bow or cello, popping some strings, right before the concert. Just kiddig, kinda. oh well. I don't think that I'll get to come back to Houston for ROTK. Sorry, but with possible Interlochen and remodeling on the house, our cash is a little thin. I'll keep trying though.

Wow

This might end up being an "elves take Michigan" website soon. I made the great mistake of bringing my father to a symphony concert. Now he realizes how poor general symphony members ore, and wants me to either be a virtuoso or a business major. In other words, since I am intent on being a music major somehow, I need more experience. So my parents told me to look at Interlochen. eeek. They don't even have the tuition price on their site. Now what does that tell you? So I'm gonna help their budget and look for music magnet schools in OKC and the like. I promise I won't come out to be an Emileigh Vandever. It's been around the 60's here, and I guess that's pretty good, considering that I'll get much more use out of my letter jacket than you Houstonians. We took a trip to New Orleans/Mississippi last weekend. We didn't get to go to downtown New Orleans like we'd hoped cause we were stuck in St. Louis because of bad weather. On the upside, we got to go see the gateway arch. (which is a math teachers dream, the king of all parabolas) Not that it wasn't fun, but I would have had more fun taking a midnight vampire tour through the big easy. We went fishing on Monday morning though, and there were all these dolphins feeding and playing in the bay, and I freaked out, naturally. lets see... Oh yes, I now have a definite date for the much anticipated Swan audition, its October 9th. So cross your fingers and hold your breath. We were supposed to see what chair we are today in orchestra, but that didn't come off since our director was gone. *tear tear* No, I like my director, he's nice, but he's much too touchy-feely. Kinda makes me wish for the good old Orchestra nazis. It's just that he feels the need to be touching a shoulder, and elbow, or some part of your arm when he talks to you. and it drives me crazy. My sister has turned Vegan, except for Christmas and Easter (so she says), and we can't find one of our cats. (Spaz) We hope that he's not dead in some corner of the house and that we won't find him half decayed in a couple of months. sorry, was that too graphic? Oh well, he had a good life. He just wasn't that old. Kinda sad though, the last few months of his life were pretty crappy. Turns out, the football team votes on the girls in homecoming court, and all the dance teams vote on the guys in homecoming court. So in other words, my school encourages the stereotypical relationship between football and cheerleader. Or, in my school's case, hooker and client, but I really shouldn't say that, I've got a couple of friends on POM squad. *slaps herself* *gently* I got 4th chair at youth orchestra, not quite as high as I had hoped, and I think I did better than the second chair chick, but whatever. I'm going to a drive in movie tonight. My parents were thinking about not letting me go, but they changed their minds. The said that when they were younger, Drive in movies were really dangerous places, which is why most of them have closed. But i figure, if this one is still open, then it can't be too dangerous, right? Well, here's hoping I'm still alive next weekend to update my blog.

Be ready for a shock.

I wore a skirt to school today! *gasp* It's floor length, very cello-y, and I got it so that I could flaunt my Renaissance-y boots. but anyways. I just lost half of my respect for my school today. It turns out, that since homecoming court isn't stereotypical enough, at my school, you can only be in homecoming court if you're on drill team or cheerleading or this thing called POM squad, which is basically reject drill team members. I went to OK city on sunday, saw the memorial for the bombing. it's really pretty, and really somber. Makes me wonder how bad it is in NYC. Our school is doing the Wizard of Oz for their musical. I don't know if I would make a good Dorothy, but being a flying monkey would be cool if we did the wirework and all. I also had chair auditions for my youth symphony. cross your fingers. ok, I have to go break the news to my coach that I have to miss like, 3 soccer games. eeek. eat your veggies kiddoes.

oh, that website is called www.newgrounds.com
sorry :)

hmm hmmm, where did I leave off? Ok, so my book crisis was solved (or just postponed) by my English teacher. She assigned us Crime and Punishment. dang Russians. No, I guess Russian literature is ok. I guess that anything remotely partaining (pertaining?) to Russia reminds me of Animal Farm. I went to my first Tulsa Youth Symphony rehearsal on Sunday. It's not bad, not as good as the Greater Houston Youth Orchestra, but still, not bad. And we have chair auditions on Saturday. I would be dreading the work involbed in getting a passage of music ready in a week, but it's Tocctata and Fugue in D-minor by Bach. You guys have to know what that is, or I'll beat you up. :) just joking. Here's a great website, look at the spoofs for Lord of the Rings and Zelda, they're hilarious. You guys are gonna think I'm really strange, if you didn't already think that. I was thinking about Houston the other day, and I realized that I had never counted how many steps it took to get from Klein to my house, and I almost cried. Isn't that weird? I could probably get very deep and philosophical, but there's chicken waiting for me downstairs. So, till next time, brush and floss kiddoes.

do doo doo do! The weekly update begins! I just got back from a soccer tournament in Kansas City ("everythings up to date in Kansas City") It was cold and rainy, and we tied one and lost before they actually had the sense to cancel it. I spent the time during games beating people up and making enemies, and the time outside of games alternately eating, sleeping, stretching, and thinking about how I should be practicing my cello. Swan auditions in a month! wish me luck! yay! I'm stuck as to which book I ought ot read next. Harry Potter 5 is feeling neglected, there's a really great murder mystery called the Dante Club, I have an obligation to Sarah to read Pride and Pedjudice (did I spell that right?), my sister is pushing my to read the Nanny Diaries, and I want to reread Lord of the Rings before ROTK comes out. So that's my current crisis. hehe, I guess I'm not so bad off.

So how's a once a week update? I don't even know that anyone reads this, but, whatver. So I've gotten out of AP chem, and into AP government. So I can now survive the school year. It was exciting. I was about to take an impossibly hard quiz, when an office aid came in and rescued me. :) but now I have to deal with how to work around the 6th period soccer problem. but not until next semester, mercifully. My orchestra is playing the Carnival of the Animals, and its a little watered down so that you don't need so many wind instruments. But that's ok, cause we still have The Swan, and I REALLY want that solo. I just hope that I don't make any enemies if I win over a senior, but then there's the problem of being shafted because of seniority, and I hope Mr. Peterson doesn't do that. cause that would really stink. Marcie scored the first goal of the season on her soccer team! YAY! We've got off-campus lunch at school, haha. Its a good thing, cause the school only has, like, hot dogs and fries and pizza, and that costs $3.50. So its good to get cheap Sam's deli sandwiches. My school also has no letter jackets. And as I have been informed that my Klein jacket has just come in, I'm soon going to be the only person walking around with a jacket that doesn't match.
